Mark Hurd has resigned from his position as chairman and CEO of the global IT giant HP, following an investigation into accusations of sexual harassment by a former contractor. An internal investigation did not find factual evidence for the accusations but did unveil other “inappropriate conduct.” According to a letter sent to HP employees Friday, Hurd submitted his resignation at the request of the company’s board of directors, which had accused him of “inappropriate behavior in which he engaged that violated HP’s Standards of Business Conduct and undermined his ability to continue to lead the company.”
